I. Goal of the Fine Dining Group: To promote social interaction among members of the Newcomers Club by way of a fine dining experience in a club members home.

II. Objectives of the Fine Dining Group

    1. Enjoy three fine dining experiences during each Newcomers Club year.
    2. Select a host/hostess for each fine dining experience so that each club member hosts one fine dining experience before another member has to host a second one. Each host/hostess will have 4 to 6 participants assigned to their group.
    3. Divide the cost of each fine dining experience, including dinner wine, equally among the participants.
    4. The fine dining experience need not be a gourmet event but neither should it be a common family dining experience. The host/hostess may choose a brunch or dinner format.
III. Organization
A. Fine Dining Group Coordinator

1. Selection: The Chairperson will be selected in the spring of the year as per club procedure so as to be prepared for the September meeting.

2. The coordinator has the authority to:
    1. Select a host/hostess for each fine dining experience so that each club member hosts one fine dining experience before any member is required to host a second event.
    2. Select the host/hostess and the group members/participants for each fine dining experience.
    3. Only the coordinator has the authority to change the host/hostess and the participants of any fine dining experience.
    4. Only the coordinator may accept the excuse of a host/hostess or a participant who cannot fulfill his/her responsibility.
    5. Only the coordinator may remove, by written notice to the individual, with copy to the President of the Newcomers Club, a Fine Dining Group member who has failed to discharge his/her responsibilities as delineated in this document.
3. The coordinator is responsible to:
    1. Communicate to each host/hostess all the names in their fine dining group at least 4 weeks prior to the fine dining experience.
    2. Fill any vacant position of a host/hostess or participant for whom the coordinator has accepted an excuse for non-participation.
    3. Collect any funds due from a host/hostess or participant who is unable fulfill his/her responsibility and who has an accepted, by the coordinator, excuse.
B. The host/hostess
1. Authority
  1. Set the date and time for the fine dining experience
  2. Notify guests of the above
  3. Set the menu
  4. Assign menu item(s) to participants
  5. Make seating assignments
  6. Collect money to cover equal shares in the cost of the fine dining experience.
2. Responsibility
  1. Provide recipes for the assigned menu items.
  2. Prior to finalizing the menu the host/hostess should solicit from the group members any food allergies or strong preferences that the group members may have.
  3. Provide the time, date, and directions to the house, to each participant of the fine dining experience.
  4. Provide a suitable seating arrangement, welcoming beverages and cleanup at the end of the evening.
  5. Provide, to the coordinator, a willing substitute to host the fine dining experience if the assigned host/hostess cannot discharge his/her responsibilities.
C. The fine dining participant
1. Authority
  1. Choose the ingredient to create their assigned menu item (s)
  2. Choose the appropriate presentation for their menu item (s)
  3. Bring a friend/escort/significant other who is not a member of the Newcomers Club provided said person is approved by the coordinator.
2. Responsibility

Failure to do so will result in the group member being liable for their equal share of the dinner and may constitute grounds for removal from further fine dining experiences.
  2. Obtain from the chairperson acceptance for any excuse if one cannot discharge his/her responsibilities.
  3. Provide, on time and suitably presented, to the host/hostess, your assigned menu item(s).
  4. Pay your fair share of the cost of the fine dining experience as determined by the host/hostess.
